Fall 2010 Worship Schedule – Return to Two Services

As indicated in the letter placed in mailboxes July 25^th, with the decision not to re-launch worship services in Tuscany our Sunday worship schedule will be changing on Rally Day, September 12^th.  The Elders’ Worship subcommittee, the Board of Education, and the pastors have met to discuss scheduling possibilities.  Consideration was given to a number of scheduling options, and the decision was made to return to the 2009 worship schedule.  Beginning September 12^th services will be held at 9:00 am and 11:00 am, with our Christian Education hour beginning at 10:00 am.  In keeping with our concern for children and family faith development, and valuing what was learned about involving children in worship at Loving Saviour, we have been exploring ways to encourage families to worship together, and to meet family needs in the context of our worship services.   Worship style has also been addressed, with consideration given to musician availability.  Please keep in mind that although there will be some differences in appearance between the 9:00 and 11:00 am services, both are opportunities to join with our brothers and sisters in Christ to receive God’s good gifts given to us in Word and Sacrament, and to respond in thanksgiving.  We hope that the information below will be helpful to you!

A final note:  Whichever service you choose to attend, there are many opportunities to serve your congregation on a Sunday morning…in fact whole families can be involved in serving together on a Sunday morning.  With your family, consider volunteering to serve as ushers or greeters.  Perhaps your family could bake goodies for coffee time following the service, or set up and serve coffee.  Family groups with teens could serve as lectors.  We will also need power point projector operators.  Training is provided for all of these positions, so don’t be shy!  Contact the church office if you are moved to participate in any of these ways.
