October 20, 2024 – Go for the Gusto

Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 24-B) – Ecclesiastes 5:10-20

Solomon says: There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? (Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 – ESV). That is what we want to do–to find our joy, our enthusiasm, our joie de vivre in God’s goodness at work in us, for in Him we can go for the gusto, and truly enjoy life as God intends.
