Christian Education
The ultimate goal of Christian Education as stated in 1 Timothy 2:4 is God’s will for “all men to be saved, and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
In keeping with this goal, Foothills Lutheran Church offers Christian education opportunities to people of all ages – children, youth, and adults – in order to nurture faith and encourage growth in the knowledge of God’s Word. The study of God’s Word is a life-long process, so you will find below opportunities for every member of the family!

VBS 2026 – Jesus, Bread of Life
Free one-week Bible Camp for Children ages 4-11
at Foothills Lutheran Church (3104 – 34 Avenue NW Calgary)
July 21-25
8:50 am – 12:00 pm
All children aged 4 (by July 20th) to 11 (leaving grade 5) are invited to join us at Jesus, Bread of Life for a heavenly feast! Each day will focus on one Bible lesson where Jesus reveals Himself as the Bread of Life, who came to give life to the world. Children will be fed with God’s Word, sing thanks and praise for the gifts He gives us through Jesus, make crafts good enough to eat, and play exciting games with each other (but not with their food!) Please send a nutritious snack for your child to enjoy at our daily snack stops. (NO PEANUTS/NUTS PLEASE!)
New youth volunteers (leaving grade 6 and older) will participate in a special training program. In this class, they will spend part of the morning learning the Bible lesson and some volunteer skills; and the other part of the morning in a classroom or activity area, using the skills they have learned. Please mark VIT on the registration form after your child’s name for this program.
