October 19, 2025 – A Lesson Learned in Struggle
Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 24-C) – Genesis 32:22-30
Some lessons can only be learned by struggle and trial. That is what Jacob learned through his struggle with God at Peniel. Jacob struggles and declares to the Lord: “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” We need that same persistent in our prayers, for even if we are struggling, God is good. He loves us with a never-ending love. He is always willing and able to bless us beyond what we even ask. When it seems that we have to struggle with God in prayer we need to remember to be persistent, for truly God will hear and answer all the prayers of His people, in accordance with His wise, loving, gracious will.
