July 5, 2020 – The More Things Change, the More He Stays the Same
Fifth Sunday after Pentecost (Series A, Proper 9) – Matthew 11:28-30
There is a hymn that says: Through all the changing scenes of life, In trouble and in joy, The praises of my God shall still My heart and tongue employ. (TLH 29, st. 1) We see so many changes around us, which is why the words of Jesus, “Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” are so comforting. In all that we face, Christ is with us to help us and comfort us through it all.
